In this article, we will explain the difference between AUTO and MANUAL pricing of a package. You will have to choose between AUTO and MANUAL pricing the moment you create a new package (see the image below). Please note that after clicking the Add Package button, you can't change the pricing logic of your package and a new package will have to be created in order to change from MANUAL to AUTO or the other way around.
Important: as certain features like the Single Room Supplement and Pax-based Pricing do not work with the Manual Package Pricing Logic, we recommend to always choose for the AUTO Pricing option (if possible).
With a MANUAL Package Pricing Logic, the package will have a base price, and you need to set additional prices for each extra item you add to the package. Make sure to calculate the packages' base price according to your default items.
1. In the pricing section, choose the base price for the package, which will be the price of all default included items. If the base price is a sum of multiple items with different VAT percentage you can set the VAT-parts here. The base price of this package is 200€ and 20€ has 1% VAT-part and 180€ 2% VAT-part.
2. In this example, the package contains a tent accommodation and dinner by default. Therefore, these items are included in the price of €200 for the total package. Horseback riding and Rock climbing are optional items and can be chosen as an upgrade. In the Package Configuration section, you will need to enter an additional price for your optional items.
3. When adding the rooms to the Accommodation options, you can add Upgrade rooms at an extra price.
Here, the package price will be the sum of all the items that the package contain, taken from the price that has already been set in the other sections of the Inventory.
The default items define the base price for the package. Optional items increase the price.
